I am very proud that the Town of Cooleemee Board of Commissioners recognized Sgt. Joseph “Joe” Crotts of the Davie County Sheriff’s Office for his outstanding service to our community.
Joe serves as our Community Officer, but I believe he has become much more than that to the people of Cooleemee. He has become someone our citizens know they can count on.
Joe regularly checks on our elderly residents, helps people who are struggling, responds when someone needs assistance, and goes far beyond what is required of him as a law enforcement officer. Sometimes the most important thing he does is simply show up and let someone know that they are not alone.
That commitment has now received well-deserved recognition from the American Red Cross, which has selected Joe as a 2026 Salute to Heroes Law Enforcement Hero.
At our monthly board meeting on September 14th, 2026, the Town of Cooleemee officially recognized Joe with a proclamation honoring his service and dedication to our citizens.
Joe, on behalf of the Town of Cooleemee and our citizens, thank you. We are proud to have you serving our community, and we are proud to call you one of our own.
