The Piedmont section of North Carolina is home to a variety of live music traditions that date back before the Civil War, even to frontier days.
Here old-time string bands, bluegrass, and gospel traditions dominate. Our local musicians are a great cultural asset.
They often play at community events but are also available for private parties and gatherings.

Mona Jo Canupp – outstanding banjo picker. She plays with “Carolina Rose & the Bluegrass Girls” on the road. Locally she performs with “MJ & Friends” band as well as “Third Creek Station” which plays in Cleveland, NC on Tuesdays nights at CJ’s BBQ off Hwy 70 behind the Freightliner plant.
