Construction on the new Cooleemee Community Center continues to move forward, and we are excited by the progress made in the month of August. The roof has now been shingled, insulation is complete, and rough plumbing has been finished. Electrical wiring is being pulled throughout the building, and brickwork is underway—with the front of the building now complete.

Sheetrock and HVAC work has also begun. Over the next couple of weeks, crews will continue installing sheetrock inside the building, continue the brickwork, install the HVAC system, and complete utility connections.

Behind the scenes, we are also working with the county to address the IT needs for both the Community Center and library, including security cameras. In addition, we will be meeting with an audiovisual company to plan for the Town’s audio and visual needs in the facility. Each step brings us closer to opening a space that will serve Cooleemee residents for years to come. Thank you for your continued support as we turn this vision into reality.
