Cooleemee Community Center – August Update

Here’s a quick update on our new Cooleemee Community Center.

I’m excited to report that construction continues to make great progress. The building is really starting to take shape, and work is now underway inside as the vision becomes a reality.

The roof structure is complete, crews are installing insulation throughout the building, and the windows are being installed. Over the next few weeks, you’ll see even more progress as rough plumbing begins, shingles are installed on the roof, and brickwork gets underway.

I’m also pleased to announce that the Town of Cooleemee has been awarded a $105,000 state grant to help purchase equipment for the Community Center. This funding will be used to outfit the multipurpose room, kitchen, fitness room, and other spaces so the facility is ready to serve our residents from day one.

I want to extend a sincere thank you to Representative Julia Howard and Senator Steve Jarvis for their support in helping secure this funding for our town. Their efforts in obtaining both this equipment grant and the original construction grant will have a lasting impact on Cooleemee.

This Community Center is more than just a building—it’s an investment in our future. It will be a place where neighbors gather, children play, seniors stay active, families celebrate, and our community comes together.

Thank you for your continued support and encouragement. I look forward to sharing more updates as construction progresses.
