The park is now open and has a full-time park manager. The park also has new hours and will charge for entry in the summer months to supplement operational costs and to help maintain and improve the areas for visitors as we strive to keep it a clean, family-friendly park.
Things To Do
The park features an impressive stone dam, a sandy beach deposited there by a flood, and good fishing in the spring and fall. Many bring their bathing suits to swim and “ride” the little rapids. There are scattered picnic tables and benches along its beautiful, wooded trails and the handsome big shelter can be rented, perfect for family reunions or church gatherings. The restrooms are located near the main parking area. Portages are available for canoeing and kayaking.
April – October: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Tuesday through Sunday.
The park is open Mondays for Memorial Day, the 4th of July and Labor Day.
November – March: 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Friday through Sunday.
The park is closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
An entrance fee is charged daily from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, and on weekends in April, May, and September.

Basic park rules shown below keep us all safe. You may also read and download the full version of the Park Rules HERE
- RiverPark urges its patrons to wear an old pair of tennis shoes in the river to prevent accidents on the granite bedrock bottom, known for its slippery moss. Swimming and water activities are at your own risk—there is no lifeguard on duty.
- No grills or open fires – bring a picnic! We can’t risk a forest fire. Contained grilling is allowed ONLY on permanently installed, park-provided grills at the main shelter.
- No alcohol or drugs are allowed, PERIOD! We don’t even like smoking.
- Keep your pet on a leash
- No glass containers.
- Remember, KEEP IT CLEAN and be thoughtful of others. Good manners are free.
Did you know that you can reserve the park’s large picnic shelter for special events like church gatherings, family reunions, and weddings? The rates are $45 for half-day, $85 for a full day, and $175 for a wedding.
To make a reservation, please call Aaron Thies at Town Hall at (336) 284-2141 or email him: email@example.com.
