RiverPark At Cooleemee Falls
The Park is Temporarily Closed
In recent weeks, RiverPark has experienced an unprecedented number of visitors to the park. This increase has created multiple public safety issues, not the least of which is access to the park for first responders. As a result, the RP Executive Committee made the difficult decision to close the park until these issues are resolved. We will reopen as soon as we have solutions in place. Please check our Facebook page regularly for updates. Thank you for your understanding ~ RiverPark at Cooleemee Falls Board of Directors
RiverPark opens at 8 a.m. and closes at sundown.
The park features an impressive stone dam, a sandy beach deposited there by a flood, and good fishing in the spring and fall.

Swimming
Many bring their bathing suits to swim and “ride” the little rapids. There are scattered picnic tables and benches along its beautiful wooded trails and the handsome big shelter can be rented, perfect for family reunions or church gatherings. The restrooms are located near the main parking area. (restrooms currently closed for COVID-19)
Contained grilling is allowed in the park except under the main shelter.
Swimming and water activities are at your own risk—there is no lifeguard on duty.
RiverPark urges its patrons to wear an old pair of tennis shoes in the river to prevent accidents on the granite bedrock bottom, known for its slippery moss. Please note the park rules when you enter.
Park Rules
There are regular police patrols to enforce the park rules. You may also read and download the full version of the Park Rules HERE.
